DeepWit Essentials Week 12

I’m going to come right out and say I would love to offer a valid excuse for not having kept up with the blog chart. Honestly though, I don’t have one. Yes we have been busy with building a new website, where this blog will call home along all of our other awesome stuff. Yes, it is warming up, which means more time preparing the vegetable garden for planting and getting new fruit bushes in the ground. Yes, we did decide to start on a ridiculously huge release schedule for the year, with something like a release every week. Oh and have I mentioned I’ve taken up knitting? Ok I feel much better about having dropped off from the DeepWit Essentials posts in the last three months but I plan on making them a bi-weekly habit again, alongside writing more advice posts, how-to’s and Q & A’s. Maybe slide in a few guest posts and charts if I can manage to get anyone interested! And with no further chit chat let me start off on this weeks essential tunes.

This one is a bit older, from last month. Which lets be honest, with quality music there isn’t an expiration date. Thanks Stratospherik for always putting out quality music, we are big fans of the Stratoliner sound.

Up next, another one from last month we missed out on. This one comes from Ready Mix Records and Addex plus remixers. We are really partial to the Original and Forteba Remix.

And now for some more recent stuff, including this great remix on Lagaffee Tales. The entire release is lovely but the Lay-Far remix really hits the spot.

This one from the Allovers on Pole Position Records is exactly what we like in a Dub.

As a general rule, you can count on DeepClass Records to come up with some lovely deep stuff and this EP from Hraach is no exception.

Here is the latest from Adaptation Music with Yan Gordo is an all around charmer, especially the Yohan Esprada Remix.

Now for some floor moving sounds from Tim Andresen on his own label What Happens.

And it wouldn’t be fitting to make an entire chart without adding in our latest release with Venntaur, which has been blowing up across the globe, getting massive airplay and support due to how very awesome it is. Just Listen.

To finish off the digital side and bordering on the vinyl we have this remix from Kalabrese of “Signs” from the Howling. Something that should be in all our collections.

This Vinyl releases on Big Bait Records with Odysea, Georgi Barrel, Joseph Tacker and Hendrik Vogel is available now.

And the last of our chart this week is another Vinyl but in it’s pre-order stage from Muzik & Friendz and we love the Pablo Bolivar remix of Frederick Alonso & Pat Lezizmo‘s track “Tablao”.

See I told you, I’ve been busy.

DeepWit Essentials // Weeks 40 & 41

GW small

This week I want to take the time to bring to your attention one of the most important releases for us this year, our Global Witness Charity VA. This compilation’s main goal is to raise money for the Global Witness organisation, who’s Co-Founder and Director just won the TED Prize earlier this year. They have been working to make a difference in the world for 20 years and we wanted to be a part of making the world a better place. All proceeds from the label and artists involved in this release will be directly donated to the organisation, so please grab your copy today and help make the world a better place.

“Global Witness campaigns to change the system by exposing the economic networks behind conflict, corruption and environmental destruction. We find the facts. We uncover the story. We change the system.”

Music styles ranging from Chillout, Electronica to Indie Dance and of course Deep House.

Now to mellow way down and enjoy some new tunes from Etoka Records. This brand new release, available exclusively via their Bandcamp page is from Adverb, beautiful, eerie and ethereal, you can’t go wrong.

Now for some music from one of our favourite DJ’s Tim Angrave. This is a one of those releases that encourages a floating away to the sounds, a musical high if you will. You can find this one on Seamless Recordings.

When we stumbled across this release from Audio Units on Sinnmusik we were pleasantly surprised. Memory Replay is definitely the track for us with its deep and laid back vibes.

And then there is always that one track, I could just fall in love with and this is that track for me. I love Renate‘s voice and although the entire release is outstanding this remix from Sound Solutions is just right up my alley. Another great release from Bogota Records.

Now to something Deep from one of our favourite producers and the man running our sub-label, DeepWit Uncovered, Cadatta. Have a listen and explore the “other” sounds going on over there.

And of course, just in case you missed it, is our brand new release out this week which also happens to be our first ever LP. This beautiful 11 track release comes from Gareth Bilaney, who offers up a very diverse and satisfying Album from start to finish.

From deep digital to deep on vinyl we have the latest from Axe On Wax, with this addictive and groove filled piece of music. A very lovely piece of work to add to your collection with a certainty you can get some use out of the outstanding remix Liam Geddes gives to the Rhythm Operator‘s track “Illuminate Your Soul”.

Hello again Oh! Records. Please let me express to you how addicted I am to Claus Casper & Jean Philips remix of Jonathan Ryno‘s track “Slow Down”. Everyone should be playing this track.

And last but not least, because we all need a some funk in our lives from time to time, we turn to Cold Busted with this LP from Eddie Shinn. Outstanding cut’s all the way through.

DeepWit Essentials // Weeks 38 & 39

The weather here has started changing and as it happens every year it goes from warm to cold way to fast for my tastes. Even the trees get little time to adjust with the most common thing being the dropping of leaves before even half have a tint of colour on them. With the cold comes the desire to spend more time under the blankets, fireplace going and nothing but a good book and some excellent music in the background. Of course there are other times were we still need a bit of happy House sounds to keep a smile on our faces and some lovely Deep House for the evenings while making dinner and catching up on the days chores. Every type of music has a mood that helps it fit into those certain places in our lives and we hope some of these tracks find a place in yours.

I want to start off with this outstanding mellow Album from our Mastering Engineer here at DeepWit, Nikosf. You can grab this beautiful release on vinyl and digitally if thats the route you prefer.

After all the chilled out moods we move onto a release from Chillin Music, with their “10 Years of Chillin Music” compilation. Some really outstanding tracks here that go beyond the genre the name implies.

And from one VA to another, this one comes from Haute Musique. With some lush deep vibes from producers  BiG Al, Adam Byrd, Jero Nougues, Kiano & Below BangkokMoe Turk, Anthony Mea and Tamandua Twist you can’t go wrong getting your hands on this.

Speaking of BiG Al, he has a killer remix out on Soul Deeparture Records of Phasen and Refurbs track “Comfortable”.

If you are looking for something deep and mellow, look no farther than Jero Nougues new EP on the brand new label Limitation Music.

And if you are needing something deep and for the dance floor, I can’t think of a better track than Miss Disk‘s remix of Fabien Kamb‘s track “Free” on Ready Mix Records. A head down groove I can’t get enough of.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a DeepWit chart without some DeepClass Records love, this new one from Jarquin & Cano is well, deep class all the way through 🙂

Now, I have to admit there really is nothing like some happy sounding synths to put a smile on my face and this very Happy House track from Bordland on Dimentique is perfect for just that.

Speaking of happy, feel good House music, it would be a shame to miss out on this great track from Other2Sides on Muskox Records.

And to finish us off for the week is this remix from Edu Imbernon on Fayer Records of Qtier is just… well it leaves me speechless. I love this track and I dare you to listen to it and not feel the same.
