DeepWit Essentials Week 12

I’m going to come right out and say I would love to offer a valid excuse for not having kept up with the blog chart. Honestly though, I don’t have one. Yes we have been busy with building a new website, where this blog will call home along all of our other awesome stuff. Yes, it is warming up, which means more time preparing the vegetable garden for planting and getting new fruit bushes in the ground. Yes, we did decide to start on a ridiculously huge release schedule for the year, with something like a release every week. Oh and have I mentioned I’ve taken up knitting? Ok I feel much better about having dropped off from the DeepWit Essentials posts in the last three months but I plan on making them a bi-weekly habit again, alongside writing more advice posts, how-to’s and Q & A’s. Maybe slide in a few guest posts and charts if I can manage to get anyone interested! And with no further chit chat let me start off on this weeks essential tunes.

This one is a bit older, from last month. Which lets be honest, with quality music there isn’t an expiration date. Thanks Stratospherik for always putting out quality music, we are big fans of the Stratoliner sound.

Up next, another one from last month we missed out on. This one comes from Ready Mix Records and Addex plus remixers. We are really partial to the Original and Forteba Remix.

And now for some more recent stuff, including this great remix on Lagaffee Tales. The entire release is lovely but the Lay-Far remix really hits the spot.

This one from the Allovers on Pole Position Records is exactly what we like in a Dub.

As a general rule, you can count on DeepClass Records to come up with some lovely deep stuff and this EP from Hraach is no exception.

Here is the latest from Adaptation Music with Yan Gordo is an all around charmer, especially the Yohan Esprada Remix.

Now for some floor moving sounds from Tim Andresen on his own label What Happens.

And it wouldn’t be fitting to make an entire chart without adding in our latest release with Venntaur, which has been blowing up across the globe, getting massive airplay and support due to how very awesome it is. Just Listen.

To finish off the digital side and bordering on the vinyl we have this remix from Kalabrese of “Signs” from the Howling. Something that should be in all our collections.

This Vinyl releases on Big Bait Records with Odysea, Georgi Barrel, Joseph Tacker and Hendrik Vogel is available now.

And the last of our chart this week is another Vinyl but in it’s pre-order stage from Muzik & Friendz and we love the Pablo Bolivar remix of Frederick Alonso & Pat Lezizmo‘s track “Tablao”.

See I told you, I’ve been busy.

DeepWit Essentials Chart February

Feels so good to get back in the groove after a little sick induced hiatus. I would like to say, that for all those that suffer from sinus issues, I truly feel for you! Having a sinus infection was probably one of the uckiest sicknesses I have ever experienced and I am glad to finally be able to breath and hear again 🙂 Now time to celebrate with all of the really excellent music I have missed out on this month!

The first release I want to introduce is actually one from our own sub-label DeepWit Uncovered which is now under the management of Cadatta. This first mini-compilation is an introduction to what you can expect from the label in the future featuring tracks from Weathertunes, ION, Khristian K, Alygos and Mich.

On the same line as the music above, is a release from Parra for Cuva on Lenient Tales. I ran across them a few months ago and have been a fan since. Indy Electronica at its best.

Slowly bringing in the 4×4 is one of the latest tracks from Ivan Garci on his label Vlosfer.

Onto one of our own recent releases where the Original track “Autumn Saturday” from Distortion Inc. is a bit more Electronica than our normal fare but is complimented by two very nice Deep House remixes from Tony S and MDR.

Over to a label that is often featured here on our blog, Ready Mix Records. This time they offer up a really stunning album from Kiano & Below Bangkok which flows from Chillout to Tech House. An LP well worth having in your collection.

Which brings us to a slightly different flavour of music from Alvaro Hylander. Seems like every time he gets his hands on a Gareth Bilaney track, he can’t help but let a little softer indy vibes flow. This one can be found on Bilanez Music.

And for some more laid back and deep vibes, we turn to Deep Site Recordings with their release from Koala. A label and artist you should be keeping your eyes on.

If you are looking for some really proper Deep House, than look no farther then this sublime 4 track EP from Loz Goddard on Goldmin Music. One of the best EP’s around right now, hands down.

For another artists that has worked here with us at DeepWit, another sublime 4 track EP, this one from Addex.

Now to introduce a brand new artist to the label, Miss Disk. This is our latest release with a very late night deep vibe with remixes from Ivan Garci and Bucher.

And for some proper dance floor vibes we head over to Lost My Dog with their latest VA “Bone Deep”. This track from Grey Area and the one from Ivan Dbri are the stand out tracks for us.

Along the same train of thought, we are really enjoying this track from Joshua Collins on Adaptation Music that comes out on Monday.

And to round out the digital releases, something a bit more dark, moody and full of grooving base from Alvaro Hylander on What Happens.

From Digital to Vinyl. I obviously need to find a way to keep a better eye out on Vinyl releases because I know there must be some other great ones out there I am missing out on. This first one comes from Pawas, who in particular, Alvaro is a big fan of. Innovative quality music on his favourite format. A man can’t ask for more.

And this last Vinyl is one from Plastik People Recordings and we are hoping to see this one, along with the labels first Vinyl, on our doorstep any day now.

DeepWit Essentials Week 3 & 4

Normally I am a strong, independent and rather fierce woman. These last two weeks though I was none of the above, due to having one hell of a flu that just won’t go away. There are few things that reduce me to a big baby, one of them is being sick. Normally they say men are the biggest babies when sick but in this house, I take the cake. The other, just in case you were wondering, is being hungry. The one upside of being sick though,  is that I have been home a lot to hear all the great music that came out these last couple of weeks and I am happy to have some really beautiful tracks to share with all of you 🙂

Per usual lets start off with some Vinyl. This release is just pure class from Four Walls & Funky Jaws on Kolour LTD. Quality all the way through, just what you look for when buying a lovely piece to add to your collection.

Onto digital releases we have this lovely remix from Kollektiv Turmstrasse on Freerange.

The new EP “Face to Face” from Ross Couch on Body Rhythm is really nice and Booker T offers a great soulful remix to the pack but “Can’t Deny Your Love” is the track for me on this one.

Onto more of the same style and class coming from Junktion on Outplay. These three tracks are all worth owning and leave you wanting more of this classic Deep House sound.

Now for the latest from a label that just can’t seem to go wrong, Large Music. This one from Purple Velvet is as lush as the duo’s name suggests.

From Large over to Dutchie Music. The Harold Heath remix stands out for us, love his style.

New label for us, Footmusic Records offering up a really quality release from Venntaur. “Melina” is the one that sweeps me off my feet, although the entire release is one worth owning.

Just Move Records always offers up classy music from SA and they have outdone themselves with this LP from label head Nuno Estevez “Close To Me”. Can not think of a single reason you wouldn’t want to own this beautiful album.

And if you are looking for that track that just gets stuck in your head, this one from Pete Rios aka Far Distance does the trick. Tracks like this make you happy for the repeat button, thanks Hype Muzik.

And if you are looking for that track that adds that heads down deep dark groove for a night at the club, no need to look farther then Alvaro Hylanders latest remix on What Happens.

More good stuff from Itom Records, this time from Tibor Dragan. Loving all three including the Moti Brothers and Marco Grandi Remixes.

And just in case, something a bit different coming from Khristian K‘s latest release on Lucidflow.

Free Tracks

Lets start off with this release from us that is up for Free Download until Jan. 31st. This was our first ever release coming from Cadatta with remixes from Ilias Katelanos, Speakdeep and Alvaro Hylander. We put the tracks up for free as a way to say thank you for the over 2500 music lovers following us on our Facebook page.

And this track from Evan Iff, is a really lovely and upbeat piece of music to add to your collection, free of charge. Thanks Evan!
